Nanette Duffey, founder of Organized Instincts, LLC, is a financial and personal organizer, speaker, blogger, and author. A native of the Metropolitan Detroit area Nanette once dreamed of becoming a food package designer, but her love of people and places pulled her out of the lab and into the world. She earned a B.S. in Corporate Finance from Clemson University which she put to good use working for nearly a dozen years at General Electric. While her primary role was as a finance manager her experience also included roles in project management, quality, and event coordination. By wearing all these hats, she polished her skills in analytic, time management, and efficiency skills.

Life doesn’t always go as planned, Nanette understands that difficulty first hand. She admits her first organizing project was helping find the carpet in her husband’s home office. While on her first client project she realized not only that “organizing means something very different to every client. It really can be fun for everyone but only if it works in the real world when the organizer isn’t watching!” As a busy entrepreneur, Nanette is constantly prioritizing her time, reevaluating her goals, and reinventing her home & office space to make room for her family, hobbies, and a growing business.

She is a proud member of the National Association of Professional Organizers and American Association of Daily Money Managers. Nanette’s continued membership in NAPO and AADMM include a commitment to their strong code of ethics regarding client privacy and technical competency. Never one to sit still, Nanette has appeared on a variety of media outlets, writes for publications, and speaks to various community organizations.
